An A3 charcoal and graphite study of a woman’s face emerging from spirals of darkness. The piece captures a complex emotional state — sorrow, calmness, and acceptance intertwining in a disturbed yet beautiful expression. Created at the beginning of 2024 during a period of creative block, this piece became a turning point, helping me reconnect with my art in a way I hadn’t in months. Its subtle contrasts and expressive shadows reflect the emotional struggle I experienced, alongside the quiet, unseen support of someone deeply important in my life — a nudge that helped me find my hand and my spirit again. Originally exhibited at my atelier, the original remains with me as a reminder of resilience, vulnerability, and the delicate strength found in letting oneself feel.
