Michael Wagener
Michael Wagener is a photographer and educator based in Cologne. After studying art at the University of Siegen, he refined his skills in commercial photography with Simon Puschmann in Hamburg. He later held academic positions in art and media education, focusing on photography, at universities in Oldenburg, Flensburg, Siegen, and Cologne. A member of the German Photographic Society (DGPh) since 2008, Michael has contributed photo essays and articles to the French culture magazine MicMag since 2012. In 2013, he served on the jury for Germany’s first photography education award. In 2017, he led a pilot project on communicating the UN Sustainable Development Goals through photography, in partnership with Canon. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Goethe Zentrum in Yerevan, Revela’T Festival in Barcelona, Photoszene Cologne, and the Museum of Art and Cultural History in Dortmund.
