Michel Soares is a Brazilian documentary photographer based in Japan. His work explores urban life, cultural expressions, and Afro-Brazilian heritage, always with a critical and authorial vision. He was a semifinalist at the Urban Photo Awards 2025 with the series “African Roots: Faith, Resistance, and Expression” and has taken part in international exhibitions. His images move between black and white and color, revealing contrasts between motion and stillness, chaos and silence, tradition and modernity.
